The above verification (LUHN / mod-10) procedure works for Visa cards (both 13 and 16 digit versions), Master Card (16 digit), American Express (15 digits), Discover (16 digits), Sears, J.L. Hudson, a number of bank's savings and checking account numbers, and some credit union draft accounts.  I have not checked it for Diner's Club nor Carte Blanc.  Please do NOT send me your account number, but do let me know by e-mail of any account types that do or do not work so that I may list them here for others to use.  Thank you.  I have heard that it also works for Canadian Social Insurance Numbers.
