Nothing Gnu. Same ol', same ol'. Just lion around.
Actually, there's plenty new here. Each day I learn something new and try to use it to improve my web site in one way or another, and add to it whatever I've learned. Please, check back from time to time, and feel free to offer any suggestions you might have to make this site better. You may leave a message in my e-mail / guestbook, or send me a message by choosing the "E-mail / Guestbook" item from the menu, or by selecting my name at the bottom of any page. Thank you.
Here are a few of the more significant recent changes:
- February 2, 2010: My Telephone Area Codes page can tell you the city associated with that phone number.
- January 12, 2010: Are you afraid of earthquakes? See how strong they can be on my Mercalli Earthquake Intensity Scale page.
- January 1, 2010: Select a timezone on my Time page to learn the time there, or change its time to see the local time which matches it. Check out other Conversions pages for multiple added units.
- December 31, 2009: My Days Between Dates page now has a pair of "next" buttons to give you the ending date and time of another jump of the same amount.
- December 12, 2009: I've added VBScript functions to my BookMarklet Editor page to allow you to test Visual Basic code and to read and write information on your own local machine.
- October 9, 2009: I've moved older years' changes to a separate web page to greatly reduce the size of this one. Links to all older changes are available below.
- September 23, 2009: A bit of work on the JS Scrolling Tables functions allows me to let the user change the horizontal and vertical jump values. Check out the results on the JS Scrolling Tables page.
- September 18, 2009: I'm now creating my Periodic Table of the Elements page using scripting to make it easier to update and saving over twenty thousand characters in doing so. I've added names for elements 104 through 111, and added information for elements 112 through 118.
- September 7, 2009: Another apostle?! How many of the nineteen names can you find on my Apostle Search puzzle page?
- July 22, 2009: If you have a few pennies left after the bills this month, you can use my Investments page to learn how those pennies could grow over the years.
- June 21, 2009: The Sudoku page can now create a new puzzle of similar difficulty to a given puzzle.
- June 1, 2009: Update reverse-telephone lookup on my Search page match the new protocol of AnyWho for better service.
- April 1, 2009: My old Scrolling Tables page using CSS is now joined by a new JS Scrolling Tables page to scroll both horizontially and vertically using JavaScript.
- March 16, 2009: I've rearranged my Days Between Dates page to combine "Day Span" and "Time Span" into "Day & Time Span" and to combine "Day Jump" and "Time Jump" into "Day & Time Jump" areas. This greatly shortens the code and, hopefully, makes the page easier to use.
- March 1, 2009: Selecting the left or right fleur-de-lis at the top of the menu page or any framed page will put the menu on the left or right respectively.
- February 22, 2009: I centralized the processing of the "document.lastModified" information and saved over 1800 lines of code. And I've standardized my method of doing unit conversions, stored the new standard as an external function, and eliminated multiple thousand more lines. These pages should load much more quickly, now.
- February 7, 2009: Better base-conversion routines have allowed me to shorten the code length and remove restrictions on my Number Base page.
- January 22, 2009: Just to be cute, I've added a Roman Numeral display of time on my Calendar page and, more seriously, Roman Numerial conversions on my Number Base page.
