I am Grateful for Because it Means
my wife who hogs the covers every night. she is not out with someone else.
the teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching TV. s/he is at home and not on the streets.
the taxes that I pay. I am employed.
the mess to clean after a party. I have been surrounded by friends.
the clothes that fit a little too snugly. I have enough to eat.
my shadow that watches me work. I am in the sunshine.
a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing. I have a home.
all the complaining I hear about the government. we have freedom of speech.
the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot. I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.
my huge heating bill. I am warm.
the pile of laundry and ironing. I have clothes to wear.
weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day. I have been capable of working hard.
the alarm that goes of in the early morning hours. I am alive.
too much e-mail. I have friends who are thinking of me.
the problems I face each day. God is still helping me through them.
